There was no winner of Friday night’s EuroMillions draw but two players came agonisingly close to winning the massive prize.
The €30 million jackpot went unclaimed after no one managed to match five numbers and two lucky stars.
The winning numbers were 12, 17, 22, 33, 39 and lucky stars 2 and 12.
However, two lucky ticketholders who matched five numbers and one lucky star managed to scoop €359,277 each.
There was also no winner of the EuroMillions Plus draw worth €500,000.
The numbers picked were 15, 26, 27, 30 and 45.
It comes as excitement is building ahead of Saturday night’s seventh consecutive record Lotto draw.
The jackpot has been capped at €19,060,800 for six draws so far with players at lower prize tiers benefiting from the prize flow down in each of the draws.
The current Lotto jackpot has been rolling since June 9 and the National Lottery added that over €44.5 million will have been raised for Good Causes in the current Lotto jackpot roll-over series.
There was no winner of Wednesday night’s draw, although thousands of Irish players still scooped prizes.
No punters managed to match all numbers, or even five digits plus the bonus, in any of the Lotto, Lotto Plus One or Lotto Plus Two draws.
In the main draw, 30 players matched five numbers to win €29,273 each.
The National Lottery is urging people to get their tickets early for Saturday’s draw.
A spokesperson said that since the jackpot has remained capped in the previous draws so far, players at both the Match 5 + Bonus and Match 5 tiers have benefited from the additional funds which were distributed to their categories across the last number of draws.
As the jackpot will remain capped for a seventh time, the additional funds that would have gone to the jackpot will instead roll down to the next tier at which there is a winner so we are set to see even bigger prizes at a lower tier as has been the case in each of the last draws.
